A unique and funky vintage ruby harem ring from the 1960s era! This beautiful yellow gold ring features a harem design comprised of five stacked bands that are hinged together at the back. Adorning the front of each band are faceted natural ruby gems that together form a rhombus-shaped cluster when worn. The claw-set rubies are a pretty pink hue with natural internal inclusions and some with surface reaching flaws indicative of earth-mined material. The rubies are likely early Thai type, suggestive of the colour and the 'harem' style. The smoothly polished stacked bands are tapered slightly towards the base, where the hinged design allows them to move but not fully come apart. Inside one of the bands there is a '14K' stamp, alas the ring has been XRF tested and indicates gold plated. There is a natural darkened patina to the base of stone settings which adds further vintage character, however can be polished if desired.
Finger size measures 'Q' (Aus) just over '8' (USA)
This fun ring has an eye-catching look and would be perfect for the lady who likes a good ring stack!
