A pretty vintage pendant from the late Art Deco era, c1940! The pendant is made of 9ct gold filled and features a bright lavender-hued paste stone at the centre. The claw-set stone is bordered with a kite shaped rail which is accented with six little textured floret motifs placed at intervals all the way around... the detail is so sweet! An original stylized bail attaches to the top. Although not signed, the pendant design is reminiscent of early Australian jewellery manufacturer G & E Rodd, aka Apex (one of the largest Australian jewellery manufactures of the 20th century). Similar designs can be seen in the book "Australian Jewellers Gold & Silversmiths Makers & Marks", pg 230.
The bail opening to the pendant is a very small 3mm, allowing for a fine chain of your choice to thread through.
With such a sweet and feminine demeanor this pendant would look great with any Spring or Summer outfit!
