Delightful gold filled antique watch fob seal, dating back to late Georgian - early Victorian era! The seal features a white chalcedony that's beautifully carved with the words "DINNA FORGET" below is a thistle and the oval cartouche at the bottom reads initials "JM". The words "Dinna Forget" is Scottish dialect meaning 'Do not Forget' - and in the day could be addressed to a woman he was courting. The chalcedony is in excellent condition with no visible chips and a crisp intaglio. The chalcedony is set into an ornate design with a scroll like arm forming up into a ring. The colour is the wonderful antique rose with soft yellow tinge, there is some normal age appropriate rubbing - mainly evident along edges.
Perfect for adding to a chain and wearing as pendant!
