A charming antique necklace dating back to Edwardian era, circa 1910! The Australian necklace is composed of aquamarine paste gemstones and seed pearls. Seven tear and oval cut aquamarine paste gems dazzle and dance along the front of necklace. A further two oval aquamarine paste gems sparkle from either side of design, attaching to chain. The aquamarine pastes are a pale icy blue colour, each exudes a beautiful scintillation. Seven graduated sections suspend from a curved double rail, six of the sections form a chevron-like design. The suspended sections feature seed pearl gems accented to top with the longest central section featuring a larger 3mm seed pearl, along with a leaf and shaped motif design. A trace link chain makes up the rest of necklace with original barrel -style fastener. Front pendant is 9ct gold and chain is 15ct gold.
An Australian necklace, the Australian maker is J. Lawrence (1894-1970's). Corresponding early Australian caratage stamps can be seen on the reverse of pendant; Australian 'sheaf' motif and '9' (9ct gold) a 'knotted cord' which was the mark for J Lawrence of Melbourne
