An exquisite pair of antique pique earrings dating back to the Victorian era, circa 1880 or so. The pique artisanship is the minute bits of gold and silver delicately inlaid into the tortoiseshell - a now lost decorative art dating to the 17th and 18th centuries, then later into the 19th century revived and seen in jewellery.

The pair of earrings exhibit a stunning floral and vine foliage design in gold and silver, along with a scalloped like border and star motif on the top. The pique art form is meticulously hand inlaid into the tortoiseshell - elongated teardrop profiles dangle from spheres of a deep brown, almost black colour. Adding further richness to these earrings is the decorative pique displaying to back of teardrops as well. Silver shepherds hooks attach at top. A good sized dangle in the ear, measuring just over 2" inches drop. These earring are in superb antique condition for the 140 or so age.

A collectible all unto itself. A future heirloom to be shown off in the lobe, and easily suiting with today's styles!
