An elegant antique bangle from the late Victorian, early Edwardian era, circa 1900's! The design boasts a beautiful white shell cameo carved with the profile of a woman's head draped with a Victorian curled hairstyle and flowing neckline. The cameo is secured into a bezel and held into place with four double claws. The classic antique bangle design features a curved three rail shoulder which is accented with one natural seed pearl along the central rail. Adding extra style is the lovely wedge-shaped profiles the little pearls are placed into. A smooth, flat profile tube measuring 5mm wide makes up the rest of bangle which is hinged with a tongue clasp, along with a safety chain for extra security.
Bangle is hand made in 9ct rose gold, the colour is the beautiful warm, yet subtle rose hue often seen in antique pieces. Some hallmarks are evident inside bangle, difficult to decipher, but looks consistent with the early Australian hallmarks; '9' in the centre, with a flag (makers mark of Aronson & Co) and possibly a 'sheaf' -the early 9ct gold standard mark.
A gorgeous feminine design which would look gorgeous mixed with today's fashion, as it did 100 or so years ago!
