A sweet opal doublet ring from the late Edwardian era, c1910's! Made of 9ct gold lining, the colour is a warm rose gold hue. Resting in a bezel collet setting is an opal doublet stone, amid the time-worn signs the opal still has plenty of life and vibrancy to mesmerize the senses! The opal is predominantly blue in colour with eye-catching red, orange and green fluorescent flashes at every turn. Best worn alone, the finger-flattering elongated oval shape opal makes for an elegant look on the finger. Making up the rest of the ring is a fine 1.60mm wide shank which forms into a split and graceful scroll motif at each shoulder. Finger size measures 'N' (Aus) '7' (USA), resizing the ring may be difficult due to the alloy underneath the 9ct gold lining.
The intense colours still pack a punch 100 or so years on, albeit the ring will need TLC with her next journey. A fun and feminine ring sure to please any opal lover!

There is signs of wear commensurate with age; a small section of the opal edge has removed and there is surface scratches to the opal. The gold lining has rubbed along the base of shank. Amid the time-worn signs the opal is very secure in setting and there is no damage to the mount (besides the gold lining wear). An eye-catching antique opal ring! |
