A unique antique bracelet from early to mid 19th century! Likely hailing from Scotland the hand wrought design comprises of four silver gilt ornate filigree links alternating with four carved agate links. Each of the agate links are fashioned into convex carved rectangular plaques. The agates display varying patterns and earthy tones of bottle green to greenish red (bloodstone variety) and banded cream to brownish orange hues; all amalgamating beautifully! The delicate silver gilt filigree-esque links are painstakingly hand accented with granulation grape clusters, leaf vines, coiling and fleur-de-lis motifs placed at each end. Little silver-tone rings connect the bracelet together and there is an integrated box tongue style clasp which opens and closes with a secure click. A small length at 6 & 3/4" (17cm) long, best suited to a small-medium ladies wrist.

A wonderful antique bracelet for the discerning lady.

Early to late 19th century
Silver gilt
Various agate stones including bloodstone
-
23.14 grams
6 & 3/4" (17cm) long and approx 2cm wide
The overall condition of the piece is good. There is some leaf embellishments missing to two of the links and some of the jump rings appear to have been replaced over the years. Two small nicks to the agates can be seen to the backs. A rustic circular mark is present to the end bloodstone, perhaps where a motif was once embedded? Overall, and to the naked eye these age-related flaws do not take away from the beauty and character of the Victorian bracelet. A wonderful antique piece!
