A charming ladies or gents leather wallet or purse from the late Victorian era, c1898! Made of genuine crocodile skin leather, the hand made tan-hued wallet is beautifully accented to the front side with charming sterling silver Cherub and foliate decorated corners. The heavenly design reminiscent of the wondrous Art Nouveau aesthetics. The interior is made of soft genuine leather and reveals several compartments - perfect for adding and organizing your cards, money, receipts or notes! Finished with a honey and brown coloured silk lining. An outer leather tab folds over and slips through a strap, closing the wallet nicely.

To one of the decorative sterling silver corners bears English hallmarks, dating the wallet to year 1898 and London provenance. There is also the makers marks which are just decipherable - appearing to read 'WRC' which is likely that of William Richard Corke.

The wallet measures 15cm (10") long x 10cm (4") height.

A distinct and practical addition to any collection and would easily suit in todays fashion accessories!

The antique wallet presents in good antique condition. There are a few small marks to the exterior leather indicative of the 120+ year age. The interior presents well - although upon closeup view and inside one compartment the silk lining has torn, albeit the compartment can still be utilized, just worth a mention! A wonderful practical antique organizer, so charming!
