A wonderful antique gate bracelet from the Edwardian era, c1910! Made of 9ct rosy yellow gold, this beautiful bracelet features textured links and a masterfully hand engraved padlock.
The gate link design boasts a combination of smooth bars running along the inside, fancy side bars interspaced by smaller textured links. Opposite side of the bracelet is plain allowing a more timeless contemporary look, still with all the charm of the Edwardian era. The versatile design claiming it's name 'Night & Day'; as it was thought the textured side could be worn in the evening and plain side in the day.
The original heart padlock is wonderfully decorated with a hand engraved design of florets and flourishes. The backside is plain with stamps "WHW Ld" and "9c" denoting 9ct gold and English gold chain producer W H Wilmot Ltd. Further stamps can be seen on the end rings. Original safety chain is attached for extra security whilst wearing.

| The bracelet presents in excellent antique condition. Besides normal surface wear, there is no major marks or damage to the links. The engraving retains a nice crisp appearance and padlock mechanism works well with firm click. A gorgeous antique piece! |
