A beautiful vintage bracelet from the mid 20th century, c1940! Made of silver gilt, the bracelet features seven ruby and sapphire blossoms with a swirling leaf motif in-between. The natural ruby and sapphire stones are round cabochon cut, displaying lovely cornflower blue hue's which contrast nicely with vibrant pinkish red tones centrally. Each have lovely transparencies with natural internal inclusions indicative of earth mined material (and some with surface reaching inclusions). The design is interspaced by a singular textured and artful leaf motif which connects with double rings. Cleverly made, the tongue clasp is integrated into the design, constructed to the reverse of one of the ruby and sapphire blossoms, along with a figure eight safety latch for extra security. No stamps are sight to the piece, tests indicate silver gilt. The bracelet measures 20.05cm (8") in total length. Asian origin.
The vibrant and leafy design is suggestive of the sought after tutti-frutti jewellery which was popularized by Cartier in the 1920's.

The condition of the vintage bracelet is very good. Besides normal surface wear, the piece remains very bright with little tarnish or gilding wear. Stones appear secure and clasps works well with nice click. A wonderful vintage piece! |
