This exquisite antique opal brooch, dating back to the Victorian era circa 1900, is crafted from 15ct yellow gold and features a stunning Australian solid crystal opal. The opal, weighing approximately 5.00 carats, is elegantly shaped in a cabochon crescent design, showcasing flashes of green, violet, and red.
The brooch is designed with a regal claw gallery setting, custom-made to complement the unique curvature of the opal. It rests diagonally on a double bar structure, adorned with a fancy gallery rail at each end and granule finals, reflecting a timeless style that pays homage to early Australian craftsmanship. The piece is stamped "15CT," indicating its gold purity, and is beautifully preserved with a bloomed matte finish characteristic of the period.
The brooch measures 5.30cm total length.
