A gorgeous Scottie dog brooch or tie pin dating to the Art Deco era, c1920's! Crafted in 15ct yellow gold, this character piece depicts a Scottish Terrier dog in standing position with upright tail and ears. Beautifully detailed in three-dimensional form, the lovely craftsmanship includes a collar and textured detail to represent the fur.
The Scottie dog appears to be riveted to a straight-sided polished bar which measures just over 5cm in length. A safety pin style clasp with safety lever attaches to the back. Stamped '15CT' denoting 15ct gold. The piece is solid (not hollow) in construction, weighing 6+ grams.

The condition of the antique brooch is very good. Besides general surface wear, there is no damage to the dog or bar, and the engraving retains a nice crisp appearance. The pin, although a little bit bent, works well. A gorgeous antique piece! |
