A wonderful Antique/Vintage sapphire lavalier necklace from the Art Deco era, c1920's! Made of 9ct white gold, this gorgeous necklace features one dazzling verneuil sapphire stone suspended from a beautiful fan lozenge design which is encompassed by a slim rail. The verneuil (lab) sapphire displays a stunning mauve blue hue, it is faceted into a timeless oval cut with an estimated weight of 8.00 carats. The colour mimics Ceylon sapphire superbly! A hand engraved pattern decorates the fan and raised central circular section, giving lovely texture and flair. There is milgrain edging to the high polished lozenge, fan and circle... adding extra Deco pizzazz! Little rings either side of the lavalier pendant attaches to the original trace necklace, and an original barrel clasp completes the necklace. Likely Australian origin.
Length of the necklace measures 42cm (16.5") long, and lavalier drop is 3.60cm.

| The condition of the vintage necklace is excellent. Besides general surface wear, there is no damage noted, or wear seen to the stone. Clasp works well with a firm click. A superb Art Deco piece! |
