A wonderful antique lavalier necklace from the Edwardian era, c1910! Made of 9ct yellow gold, this fanciful antique necklace has a curvilinear design with flowing lines and an organic appearance that is distinctive of the Art Nouveau aesthetic. The necklace features an ensemble of ten bright natural garnet stones which are claw set throughout the design. The garnet's display lovely raspberry red hue's which dance beautifully within the centrepiece. There is also seed pearl accented leaf shape profile's, and an additional four 'dotted' seed pearl accents which meld nicely into the elegant organic design. The centrepiece attaches to an original cable link chain with spring clasp. A later curb link chain to one end has been attached - giving versatility to wear at different lengths of either the base of the neckline, or slightly longer at the collarbone. Stamped '9c' to the back of the centrepiece, as well as the spring clasp.
Wearable length of the necklace measures 15.50" (just off 40cm) or 18" (46cm), centrepiece length measures 2.5" (6.50cm).
