A stunning Indian Mughal style Evil Eye pendant necklace from the late 20th century! Made in the ancient Mughal style, this one-of-kind reversible Evil Eye pendant features Polki diamonds below a central ruby with hand enamelling adorning the remaining surface of the pendant.
Hand wrought in 18ct gold, five polki diamonds (polki meaning raw natural form) glimmer within frames and below a fiery red ruby in cabochon form; all resting in a slightly raised eye profile. Vivid coloured enamel richly decorates the remaining surface including a beautiful floral central design to the reverse, which is an equally stunning side to wear! Enamel colours include vitreous red, blue and green. Dangling from below are three cultured pearl and red glass tassels.
The pendant is attached to a 20ct yellow gold Singapore Twist rope 16" necklace, complementing together nicely. The hinged lever-hook connection on necklace works well with a firm click when fastened.
Both pendant and necklace are of Indian origin.
