A lovely antique locket necklace from the Edwardian era, c1910! Crafted in sterling silver, this unique rectangular shaped locket is beautifully decorated with hand engraved Ivy leaves to the front, and to the reverse there is hand engraved flourishes, scrolls and an unmonogrammed shield - where you may like to customize with your initials!?
We have added the locket to a later (c1970) sterling silver 17" box chain which is accented with five blue turquoise beads to the front, giving a distinctive vintage twist.
The locket bears a crisp set of English hallmarks, denoting Chester origin and year 1910 manufacture. Makers marks 'W & R' can also be seen, indicating early 20th century Birmingham silversmiths, White & Reynolds.
Inside the locket reveals an open space where you may like to store special photos, or small sentimental keepsakes.
Ivy leaves conveyed "Cling to me" in the secret love language of antique sentimental jewellery.
The size of the locket measures 2.50cm height with ring, 1.80cm width, and 5.50mm thick.
