MIZPAH jewellery was in high demand in the Victorian period, often conveying love and protection, and with its biblical meaning 'watchtower' or 'lookout' it often signified an emotional bond between two people in a time of separation; the word originating from the bible Genesis 31, Verse 49, “And Mizpah; for he said, The Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another”.
The use of Tiger claw jewellery in the 19th century was prevalent and often given and worn as symbols of power and protection. The talismanic properties of wearing a Tiger claw dates back to ancient Asian origins.
This one-of-kind antique necklace would make a wonderful gift to that someone special!
