Here is a remarkable 19th century figural pendant featuring a detailed depiction of Saint George slaying the dragon, a triumph of good over evil. Crafted in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, around 1880, it is made of silver and features vibrant polychrome enamel.

The pendant is further adorned with lustrous pearls, a table cut diamond, ruby and emerald gemstones, adding to its opulence.

The double-sided articulated dragon wings and intricate three-dimensional design reflect the artistic influences of the Renaissance period, making this piece not only a striking accessory but also a wonderful historical piece.

In a legend, Saint George, a soldier revered in Christianity, defeats a dragon at Dragon Hill, Uffington. The story goes that the dragon extorted from the villagers - a sheep and livestock every day. When they ran out of livestock for the dragon, they started sacrificing their children instead, until Saint George went into battle with the dragon, slaying the dragon.
