Here is an exquisite English sterling silver antique locket, crafted circa 1882. Featuring a timeless oval design, this locket is adorned with intricate floral engravings, showcasing rose gold applique flowers and green gold applique leaves that beautifully intertwine with hand engraved fern-like foliage. The meticulous hand decoration and granule border reflect the artistry of the period.
The original rounded tapered bail attaches to the top, and the inside of the locket is plain providing a generous size for holding sentimental memories. English hallmarks to the reverse reveal the locket is of Birmingham origin and was manufactured year 1882. There is also a maker's mark "W" which is partially seen. The locket measures 6.50cm long including bail, 3.80cm wide.
The locket is beautifully complemented on a fabulous antique sterling silver 24" belcher chain (solid, not hollow linked!).
A timeless treasure that tells a story of elegance and craftsmanship!

The antique locket presents in good condition. Besides normal surface wear, there are a few miniscule dents to the back and one slightly damaged granule, though does spoil the beauty of the locket. A wonderful antique piece! |
