A sweet vintage mechanical gold watch from the Art Deco era, c1930's! Made of 9ct gold with rolled gold band, this feminine (all working) watch has a lovely elongated hexagon shaped case with easy-to-read circular dial. The dial is a matte silvery colour with hand painted black numerals - numbers 6 and 7 have rubbed with age. Hand painted black minute markers accent the outer dial, and original blue steel spade hands tell the time whilst adding further Deco personality!
Inside the case reveals the original Swiss 15-Jewel mechanical movement … which (unbelievably) works and keeps time! It will require interaction with the owner to work - a simple wind of the crown to kick-start the cogs every time it's worn. The inside of the case is stamped "9CT", denoting 9ct gold.
Complementing the Art Deco watch is the original rolled gold bracelet band. An adjustable gold plated Handley clasp secures the watch. Total length of the watch measures 17cm - 18cm.
The watch is accompanied with the Claude Sarre cream case (hinge spring in the case no longer works).
An elegant vintage timepiece. Perfect for any vintage lover, and a pleasing way to reading the time!

*Please note the watch currently works, keeping accurate time within a 12-hour period. However, the mechanical movement has not been serviced so does not come with a guarantee. Typically mechanical watches of this era, if working, either gain or lose between 5 -10 minutes as the cogs wind down.

The watch is in good vintage condition. Besides general surface wear and some minor case dings, overall the watch faces up well. Numeral 6 and 7 have worn, and there is some dial discoloration. Unbelievably it is still ticking and keeps time within a 12-hour period! A gorgeous vintage timepiece! |
