A very cool antique sword pendant from the late Victorian - early Edwardian era, c1900! This 'functional' piece is handcrafted in 9ct yellow gold and was likely utilized as a letter opener or sewing tool in the early 20th century. The sword nicely slides out of the sheath to reveal a straight blade which forms into a sharp point at the tip, just like a real sword! The handles are slightly shaped for extra style and there is a trace chain which attaches to the side of the sword and sheath, keeping the two together. A ring attaches to the top of the sword allowing for a chain of your choice to thread through.
Swords often symbolize strength, honor, courage, protection and power. Swords can also be associated with the sport fencing.
A chic antique sword pendant which is very much in vogue at the moment. Gorgeous worn alone or layered with your other favorite necklaces!
