A fabulous marcasite leaf bracelet from the late Art Deco period, c1930's! Made in Germany the good-sized bracelet is made of sterling silver and features hand-set marcasite accents encrusted into each link design. The links depict 3d leaves which are convex and pierced. Adding further flair to the design is scallop edging, along with beading and milgraining to each leaf link.
A pin and tubular attachment connects each link together and a marcasite accent rests at each pin end. There is an integrated tongue-clasp which fastens with a firm click. A figure-eight safety catch and safety chain attaches to either side for extra security. A beautiful patina remains on the piece adding further depth of character.
Stamped to the tongue connection is "STERLING" and "GERMANY". Many marcasite pieces were produced in Germany before WW2 for export. A little shorter than most bracelets of this era at 16cm, the bracelet is 2cm wide.
A wonderful Art Deco marcasite bracelet sure to be noticed on. Perfect coupled with jeans or that little black dress!
