A striking pair of natural banded agate dangle earrings from the late Victorian era, c1880-1900! The earrings comprise of four agates - two cabochon and two beads suspended at the bottom. Made in 9ct yellow gold the beads dangle freely from little gold rings in between. The top of each earring has a bezel set cabochon agate with 9ct gold shepherd style wires attached from the top. A wire threads through the agate bead with a cup each end securing the wire in place. The banded agates have a gorgeous striped design, a mid-deep brown hue with a milky white band that hugs near the center of the bead and cabochon. The agates are a smooth polish displaying a rich, glossy texture.
The earrings are stamped '9CT' to each cup of the bead earring and all the earring components tests 9ct yellow gold. The total drop of the earrings measure 30mm, a nice size on the lobe... not too big, not too small! Selling separately is a matching antique agate bead necklace.
A simple yet striking design. Stylish earrings which would look stunning worn day or night!
