A stylish antique bar brooch from the Edwardian era, c1901! A touch of understated elegance is this antique bar brooch. Made in 9ct gold in a lovely warm rose gold hue. Taking centre stage is the eye-catching and very dazzling orange paste gemstone. The faceted oval-cut paste measures 10.0mm x 7.40mm. The paste is resting in a handmade gallery claw setting and placed centrally along a straight-edge 9ct gold bar which is polished, displaying a soft gleam to the gold surface.

A metal pin and c-loop to the reverse make up the rest of the brooch. Also there is a gold-tone safety chain which attaches to the back of the brooch. The stamps are difficult to decipher, a test indicates 9ct rose gold.

An elegant antique brooch! The perfect little accessory to add a pop of colour to the collar, shirt or scarfe. Understated elegance...

Early Edwardian, c1901
9ct rose gold
Paste, faceted oval-cut measuring approx 10.0mm x 7.40mm, bright orange colour. Gemstone tested by a FGAA gemmologist with professional gemmological equipment.
Stamp difficult to decipher
2.61 grams
Just short of 2" inches (5cm) long
Good antique condition. The brooch does bear general wear indicative of the age. There are minor flaws to the stone - a table scratch, light abrasion around the facet edges and tiny nicks. Three claws to the gallery setting are missing, however does not impede with the stones security and difficult to notice whilst wearing. The pin works well with good tension, albeit the C connection is slanted yet secures in a practical way. A gorgeous antique treasure to adore for another century!
