A beautiful antique brooch from the Edwardian era, c1910! This eye catching brooch is made of 9ct rose gold and is a nice solid construction of 6-plus grams. Dazzling along the centre of the bar are three gemstones, a natural blue sapphire and a pinkish-red garnet doublet either side. The gemstones are bead set and feature a lovely grooved star profile border. Adding extra charm to the brooch is a hand-engraved embellishment across each end of the bar, as well a subtle scalloped edge along top and bottom. The clean-cut rectangular design is typical of early Australian brooch designs and likely to be Australian origin.
A metal pin and c-loop to the reverse make up the rest of the brooch. Stamped '9CT" on a plaque to the reverse.
A simple yet elegant design which would look lovely worn on a high neck collar or jacket lapel.
