From the mid 20th century, a sweet Akoya pearl necklace! This timeless necklace comprises of 112 lustrous Akoya cultured pearls which have a lovely creamy/ivory hue - a pearl colour difficult to find in today's market! The round pearls radiate with a beautiful lustre and are a good match. Each pearl is meticulously calibrated from 6.00mm largest at front, working its way down to 2.80mm near the clasp. A shorter length pearl necklace, sitting in between the classic choker and princess length on the neckline - overall length measuring just over 16" inches (41.5cm). The pearls appear to be hand strung onto white silk which is fairly firm. An elegant sterling silver marcasite decorated clasp fastens the necklace together. Stamped "Sterling Silver" to the reverse of the clasp.
A timeless piece that would be suitable for bridal wear or a bridal gift. Or perhaps for that special birthdate looming. June is the birthstone month for pearl.

Superb vintage condition! Clasp works well and thread is relatively firm. No flaws I can spot. |
