A charming hand-engraved antique cross from the Edwardian era, c1910's! Made of 9ct gold, the colour is a wonderful butter rose with shards of yellow highlights where it has been engraved. Such a gorgeous contrast! The front of the cross features stunning hand engraving of trailing Ivy leaves, as well as a blank scroll in the centre - where your monogram beckons! Ivy leaves often represented friendship and fidelity in the 19th and early 20th century. There is evidence the brooch started it's life as a pendant and at some stage been converted into a brooch. Albeit could easily be converted back into a pendant if that is more your style! Behind the cross is a metal pin and C-loop as the connection. There is also a "9CT" stamp denoting 9ct gold. The beautifully constructed cross is hollow, but thick walled.
A wonderfully charming antique cross with oodles of sentiment. A perfect accessory for the lady who loves a cross!
