A timeless Mikimoto Pearl necklace from the mid 20th century, c1950! The newly restrung necklace comprises of three graduated strands of two hundred and eighty six lustrous akoya pearls. Each pearl is meticulously calibrated from 7.20mm largest at front, working its way down to 3.50mm near the clasp. The colour is a wonderful soft creamy white with rose overtone, and the unblemished surface of each pearl radiates with a luminous sheen. A shorter length pearl necklace, sitting in between the classic choker and princess length on the neckline - overall length measuring just over 16" inches. The pearls are newly hand strung onto white silk. An elegant akoya pearl 10k white gold textured 'box' clasp fastens the necklace together. Stamped "WG" "K10" and signed with Mikimoto's signature "M" in a clamshell frame to the reverse of the clasp. The pearl necklace comes with the original Mikimoto tan brown case pictured.
