A wonderful emerald, pearl and black enamel ring from the Georgian era, c1829! The piece is made of 18ct yellow gold and is an absolutely stunning example of memorial Georgian jewellery! The ring bears a set of English hallmarks denoting London provenance, and year 1829, and there is an endearing memorial inscription on the reverse which appears to read "Wm Garrett who died 30 Nov 1829 Aged 65 ys". Dazzling from the center of the ring rests one beautiful green natural emerald gemstone which is fashioned into a rectangular shape. Surrounding the emerald is ten natural half pearls of creamy hue with a soft satiny luster. A dramatic black enamel border surrounds the pearls along with a slender gold textured border. The impressive cluster style is typical Georgian-glamour, sitting low to the finger, with the stones resting in low crimped collet settings, and a smooth closed-back which fits like a glove on the finger. A stunning textured repousse shank which splits at the shoulder makes up the rest of the ring, flowing down to a grooved shank at the base.

A magnificent Georgian ring, utterly gorgeous on, and would make a notable addition to any antique ring collection!

The overall condition of the Georgian ring is superb . Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold, emerald, or pearls. Upon close inspection under magnification tiny nibbles to the enamel can be seen. A wonderful antique ring!
