A unique pair of antique thistle earrings, the wonderful Scottish pebble aesthetics indicative of the late Victorian era, c1880! The dangle earrings are made of sterling silver and the design depicts the national Scottish floral emblem; the thistle. The centre of the thistle design boasts a bright amber-orange paste stone (imitating the Scottish Cairngorm). The pastes rest centrally in a claw collet setting with a wavy base portraying the thistle spikes. Shaped and etched silver tops portray the top of the thistle, and a simple wire hook fitting is fixed from behind. There is an outer oval-shaped ring which threads through the top section, bordering the stones and swaying nicely in a backward forward motion. The oval ring border is adorned with a lovely textured pattern and features a crescent shaped bloodstone inlaid along the bottom, each representing the leaves of the thistle. The bloodstone's are a deep green colour with subtle red speckles, a characteristic of the bloodstone gem. The earrings are dainty and lightweight.
A gorgeous Scottish dangle in the earlobe. A beautiful design which would easily complement today's fashion. Perfect for the avid Scottish lover!
