A luscious red garnet tantalizes and radiates in this vintage solitaire ring. The ring dates back to late Art Deco era, circa 1930-40's and is nicely handmade in a gleaming 18ct white gold.
The eye is drawn to the luscious natural garnet - a fiery red colour, emitting lovely purple flashes. The garnet is the admired cushion-cut with an exceptionally clean clarity, estimated weight is 2.10 carats. Holding the garnet is a classic four-claw setting which features a beautiful pierced 'crown' undercarriage. A little swiss-cut diamond dazzles from the upswept shoulder and is further adorned with a beaded 'dummy-setting', milgrain edge, and pierced pipe underneath each upswept shoulder.... attention to detail is evident! There is a double groove at bottom of upswept shoulders, flowing through to a plain and rounded profile shank, measuring 1.80mm to 1.60mm wide at base.
The vintage ring is handmade in 18ct white gold with corresponding "18CT" stamp inside shank. The ring is on the smaller size, measuring just under 5 (USA) or J (AUS), and can easily be resized to a degree.
A dainty garnet ring with a whisper of vintage elegance. Suitable as an alternate engagement ring, dress ring, or enhanced with others as a 'stack ring'. It would also be suitable for the lady with a January birthday!
