A striking blister pearl ring from the Arts & Crafts movement, c1920! This wonderful ring is made by one of Australia’s most prolific and influential jewellers of the Arts and Crafts movement, Rhoda Wager. The ring is made in sterling silver along with small gold embellishments, likely 9ct gold. An elongated tear-shaped blister pearl is bezel set centrally, it is white in colour with a silvery green overtone and a clean skin with very few blemishes, a stunning lustre radiates from the pearl! The good-sized pearl measures approximately 16.50mm long x 9.50mm wide. The bezel is framed with a tear-shaped rim which is stepped down in height, a silver coil, or 'vine' wraps around bezel in a flowing unbalanced design, one of the wires to one side appear to be missing, albeit difficult to detect the imperfection due to the design. Lovely gold leaves, gum nuts and trailing vine adornments decorate randomly around the pearl, a double wire band forms the shank which has a split design at the shoulder - all details characteristic of Rhoda Wager style.

The reverse of bezel bears the stamp "WAGER". Finger size of ring measures 5.5 (USA) 'K' (AUS).

An attractive pearl ring by a prolific Australian designer, Rhoda Wager.... A piece which is very sought after, and becoming increasingly harder to find!
