Vintage Sterling Silver Marcasite & Pearl Flower Clip-on Earrings

There is something about the original vintage marcasite pieces which is very alluring. Maybe it's the fact that the original vintage marcasite pieces were hand-finished and delicately handset with minute claws (unlike today's pieces that are mass-produced and glued on!). Or perhaps it's the attention to detail, or the natural darkened patina, rather than the distinct man-made oxidised finish of today...

Such a feminine touch in the lobe these are! The original vintage earrings date back to around the 1950's-60's and are made in sterling silver. Complementary for night or day wear, the earrings are a gorgeous pierced asymmetric flower design... and a nice proportion- not too small, and not too big! The vintage earrings are encrusted with sparkly marcasite gems and accented with a lustrous creamy faux pearl in the centre. So pretty! The marcasite gems are all hand-set with milgrain edging adding further vintage flair. A simple clip-on attachment is on the reverse. The earrings may also be worn as a collar enhancer - clipping to the collar corner!  Stamped "STERLING" to attachment.
