A delightful pair of coral earrings from the mid 20th century, c1950! These earrings are made of 14ct gold and the colour is a rich yellow with rose tint. Each hold a smoothly polished cabochon oval-shaped natural coral, measuring approx 16.80mm x 12.70mm. The coral exhibits a saturated colour in a deep reddish orange shade that is very desirable among coral collectors, known as "ox-blood coral." One of the corals is not so intense as the other, seen upon close inspection and side by side- albeit on the earlobe it would not be detected. The corals rest in a four-claw collet setting which features a decorative foliage design extending along one side, bottom and partial top section. A secure clip and post fastener is attached to the back. The earrings are stamped '18K' to the back of clips, however a test indicates 14K gold. The style of earrings are indicative of Italian origin.
A beautiful pair of vintage coral earrings. A feminine and classy touch to the lobe!
