A charming little whistle charm dating back to the Victorian era, c1890! The charm is made of 9ct gold and the gold colour is a warm yellow hue. The petite charm features a detailed repousse top and the overall shape is somewhat resembling an acorn. The charm is hollow and there is a dent to the front of the repousse, albeit seen upon close inspection. In the late 19th century this sweet charm was most likely suspended from a ladies chatelaine and used for various reasons from summoning a servant to calling for their pet. Unfortunately today the whistle is no longer functioning. Despite, the whistle would make a wonderful, quirky little charm to add to a bracelet or necklace!
No stamps are evident to the piece, a test indicates 9ct gold. The charm has a natural darkened patina placed in the repousse grooves adding further texture and character.
The charm would make a wonderfully unique adornment. A cute little antiquity whistle which is becoming increasingly hard to find!
