A darling key pendant dating to the Art Deco era, c1930! The pendant is made of a gleaming 9ct gold, and the colour is a lovely warm rose hue typical of antique gold. The pendant was once a brooch and has been beautifully converted into a chic modern-day slider style pendant. The pendant depicts the shape of a skeleton key with a cut-out infinity handle and long shaft. There is hand engraving along the handle edges and skeleton key section, adding further character and definition to the key. A disguised half loop attaches to the back of the key allowing for a chain of your choice to slide through from the back - the clean design highlighting the wonderful key outline when worn.
The key symbolism goes back to antiquity and was, and still today is given as a gift for a milestone birthday. The key is also a symbol of freedom and liberation, and a modern romantic notion is "the key to my heart".
A charming and sentimental piece of antique jewellery that would look great with jeans or dress. Perfect for a gift to that someone special!
