This charming horseshoe brooch dates back to the Edwardian era, circa 1910! Symbols were very popular during the Edwardian era (and many periods before) with the horseshoe representing luck, also horses were a way of life, a fact of daily existence whether it was travel, work or play.

This double bar design brooch features two horseshoe's with an entwined wire below. One horseshoe is set with seed pearls, and other is set with royal blue sapphire pastes, imitating sapphires. This horseshoe brooch is more than likely English origin, it is made of 9ct yellow gold with a soft rose hue.
