This lovely 14ct gold Antique bangle is from the Austro-Hungarian Empire (1867- 1919), it features four small cabochon turquoise gems interspaced along the top half of bangle. The turquoise gems are individually bead set into a star design. Adding extra charm to this Austro-Hungarian bangle is the tiny granulation beads running along the edges. This hinged bangle secures to one side with a hallmarked integrated push fit (tongue) catch.
The Austro Hungarian stamp- placed on the tongue catch, is of a six-sided lozenge cartouche with an animal head, a letter 'A' and number '4'. The letter 'A' indicates that the bangle comes from Vienna and the numeral '4' indicates a gold standard of '585' which is equivalent to 14ct gold. Also stamped is the makers initials 'J.K'
Included is the charming satin lined box, which is more than likely the original box as it reads 'WIEN' inside the lid, (translating to Vienna in English) which is where the bangle originates from- Vienna.
