This wonderful duet clip is from the Art deco era, circa 1930, it is crafted in sterling silver and originates from Germany. The duet clips features an ornate floral, leaf and swirl design, it is accented with sparkly marcasite gems and milgrain edges - adding extra charm to this highly collectible vintage treasure.
In the day, these dress and fur clips first appeared in the 1920's, in 1927 the double (duet) dress clip was discovered by Louis Cartier that let two twin clips attaching to each other, to be worn as a brooch, or worn separate as matching dress, fur or shoe clips. Clever little invention this was....!
Today, they can be used in imaginative ways such as on a hat band, ribbon belt, shoulder straps, rim of a purse, dress shoes, scarf or earrings ...or brooch.
