A charming antique locket from the Victorian era c1880! The detailed locket is crafted in rolled gold with a 14k gold front cover. The locket has a double-sided design in a traditional oval shape. The front features a wonderful textured surface with a bunch of grapes motif in relief, displaying a 3-dimensional design. The bunch of grapes motif features beautiful hand-engraving and captures a life-like appearance, a lovely gold sheen radiates from the grapes motif. The back of locket is hand-engraved in a foliage, floral and scroll design, an oval cartouche is in the centre (perhaps where your initials beckon!?). Inside the locket reveals frame inserts, along with a lock of hair behind the glass and there is blue fabric on the opposite side. Perhaps worn as a mourning locket in the 19th century, today can be worn graciously with your precious photos of loved ones stored inside. A ring and sturdy gold jump-ring to top makes up the rest of locket.
A wonderfully charming antique locket, perhaps for the avid wine lover!
