A super cool upcycled antique locket necklace from the late Victorian era, c1900! Made of metal gilt the locket has accrued a lovely soft yellow gleam over the years, blending nicely with the subdued white metal chain. Originally a coin holder, the coin mechanism was no longer functional, so we have repurposed by gutting and converting the piece into a spacious unique locket. The front and back shell retains wonderful crisp Victorian engraved flourishes of scrolls, foliage and flowers, and there is a plain love heart cartouche to the front... perhaps where your initials beckon!? Inside there is enough room to store special keepsakes such as pills, rings, or anything you may like to keep close to your heart! An easy push top opens the hinged locket, and closes securely with a click. The locket suspends from an original solid curb watch chain with extensions at the back, also from a Victorian watch chain. An original t-bar dangles from the front and matching dog clip swivels attach at the ends and front where the locket suspends from - all in perfect working order.
At 16" length the necklace sits nicely at the base of the neck, with a 4" inch pendant drop.
A lovely one-of-kind antique piece which radiates with Victorian elegance! Perfect for any vintage lover, or as a gift to a loved one.

The antique chain presents in Excellent condition. Besides normal surface wear and some light surface patina, the chain presents to the eye in wonderful condition throughout. The locket hinge and closure works well with a solid click to close. All the dog clips function well retaining a firm tension, and links are all securely connected together with little wear visible.
