A fabulous jockey cap horseshoe charm from the Victorian era, c1890! The charm is made of 9ct gold. The gold colour has a charming two-tone appearance - yellow gilded sections over rose gold, giving rise to the exquisite detail of the piece! The distinctive Victorian charm depicts a horseshoe with a jockey cap resting above centrally. The piece has a wonderful 3-dimensional appearance with a textured finish decorating the front and seven embossed nails along the edges ('lucky 7' as they say!). The back 'hoof' of the piece also features a textured section with indents depicting the seven nails along the edge, as well as embossed detail adding further depth of character. A fixed ring attaches to the top.
No stamps are evident to the piece, an XRF test indicates 9ct gold.
This truly unique antique treasure is perfect for the equestrian enthusiast, or would make a perfect addition to that Albert chain or bracelet.
