A darling key pendant from the Victorian era, circa 1900! The pendant is made of 9ct gold, a lovely warm rose hue with yellow tint. The pendant was once a brooch and has been beautifully converted into a chic modern-day pendant. The pendant depicts the shape of a skeleton key with an entwined 'lovers knot' handle, a long shaft and cut-out pattern. A rose gold jump ring attaches to the top allowing for the chain to slide through. Included, and complementing nicely is the antique rolled gold cable necklace which has a newly fitted 9ct gold bolt ring clasp.
The key symbolism goes back to antiquity and was, and still today is given as a gift for a milestone birthday. The key is also a symbol of freedom and liberation, and a modern romantic notion is "the key to my heart".
A charming and sentimental piece of antique jewellery that would look great with jeans or dress. Perfect for a gift to that someone special!
