A very lustrous Mikimoto Pearl necklace from the mid 20th century, c1950! The newly restrung Mikimoto pearl necklace comprises of a single graduated strand of ninety-seven luminous Akoya pearls. Each pearl is meticulously calibrated from 7.10mm largest at the front, working its way down to 3.60mm near the clasp. The colour of the pearls are a wonderful subtle creamy white with silvery overtone, each matching superbly with clean skin and spectacular surface lustre which radiates from each pearl … all indicative of the superior Mikimoto pearl brand! The pearls are hand strung onto white silk with a rectangular-shaped pierced and textured sterling silver 'box' clasp securely fastening the strand. Stamped "S" (denoting sterling silver) and signed with Mikimoto's signature "M" in a clamshell frame to the reverse of the clasp. When draped on the neckline the pearls rest at a classic princess length, measuring 18" inches long.
