A lustrous Mikimoto pearl necklace from the mid 20th century, c1950! The graduated Mikimoto pearl necklace comprises of a single graduated strand of ninety-five luminous Akoya pearls. Each pearl is meticulously calibrated from 7.00mm largest at the front, working its way down to 3.00mm near the clasp. The pearls display a lovely creamy white hue, each matching superbly with a clean skin and spectacular surface lustre which radiates from each pearl ... all indicative of the superior Mikimoto pearl brand! The pearls are hand strung onto white silk with a marquise-shaped textured sterling silver hook clasp securely fastening the strand. Stamped "S" (denoting sterling silver) and signed with Mikimoto's signature "M" in a clamshell frame to the reverse of the clasp. The pearl necklace comes with the original Mikimoto green velvet case pictured. A classic princess length, measuring 18" inches long.
