A gorgeous upcycled Akoya pearl and gold necklace from the mid 20th century, c1950! This wonderful necklace is comprised of a single strand of creamy Akoya cultured pearls, 9ct yellow gold beads and a carnelian heart pendant at the front. The Akoya pearls have been utilized from a 1950's strand and recreated into a chic statement necklace. There are sixty-two lustrous 7mm- 7.5 mm cultured Akoya pearls, each display cream hues with varying overtones of gold and rose. Interspaced along the strand are six 9ct gold rondelle beads - the yellow gold contrasts beautifully with the creamy hues of the pearls.
Suspended at the front of the necklace is a heart-shaped 30mm vintage carnelian stone pendant. The carnelian heart displays a lovely warm orange hue and features 'V' banding to the upper front and back - a natural striation in the stone. The natural banding in the carnelian agate reminding us of a V-neck top! The carnelian heart is attached to a 9ct gold jump ring with a rondelle spacer either side. A 9ct yellow gold bead clasp with white gold hook securely fastens the necklace.
The necklace measures 50cm (20") inches in total length, pendant drop measures 3cm.
