A beauty from the past! The band is hand engraved with an alternate, consistent pattern all the way around. The pattern is not the typical Victorian scrolls & swirls instead more of a vertical line and diamond-shaped pattern. A lovely antique subtle rose hue emits beautifully.. adding to the Victorian charm!
There is a set of English hallmarks placed inside band .The hallmarks indicate Chester provenance, dated 1880 ('r' date letter stamp). Makers mark "B.H.J" are likely that of Barnet Henry Joseph, a prominent Birmingham jeweler in the mid to late Victorian era.
The width of ring measures approximately 4.50mm. Finger size measures 7.5 or O 3/4, resize is possible, though may interrupt engraving.
A perfect ring today worn as a stacking ring, pinky ring or for the avid Victorian ring collector...
