Such an elegant Bucherer vintage watch bracelet this is, dating back to the mid 20th century, c1950's! The working Swiss watch is predominantly made of 800 silver with a metal back case. The entire front surface of the watch case and band is encrusted with dazzling hand-set marcasite gems and decorated with filigree elements. The pierced face cover (aka the peek-a-boo range!) portrays a gorgeous three-dimensional blooming flower design. Hinged with a peg and lever connection to the bottom, the face cover opens to reveal a subtle silver-tone dial with 4 applied Arabic numerals and 8 applied indexes along with an hour and minute hand. The hidden dial is signed 'BUCHERER', along with '17 JEWELS' 'SWISS'. The fanciful band exudes Art Deco flair, and the integrated tongue clasp melds seamlessly into the design. A safety chain with bolt-ring end attaches near clasp, adding extra security whilst wearing. The silver surface retains a small amount of natural darkened patina, exhibiting a gorgeous antiquity charm!

The fabulous mechanical hand-wound seventeen jeweled movement is in working order, in fact not skipping a beat within 24 hours! A simple wind of the side crown to kick-start the cogs is needed every time it's worn.

The watch is made by one of the oldest luxury Swiss watchmakers, Bucherer. Founded in 1888 by Carl F Bucherer, today the prestigious Bucherer company is run by the original family's third generation, and still has strong affiliations with the Rolex brand.

The watch case measures 21.60mm long x 14.50mm wide, and the band measures around 10mm wide. Total length of the watch measures around 16cm, suiting a small to medium sized wrist. No stamps are sighted to the silver, tests indicate 800 silver.

A charming and unique Bucherer marcasite watch. The perfect vintage timepiece to keep you on time!
