A charming and fine quality antique pocket watch from the Edwardian era, c1908! The demi-hunter (aka half-hunter) pocket watch case is made of a gleaming 18ct yellow gold, and the mechanical movement is presently in working order. The smoothly polished case features a beautifully decorated front with superb guilloché red enamel and gold painted old-style numerals, gold minute dots, and gold inner frame.

A small central glass is placed at the top cover allowing view of the time, without actually opening the cover. The top can pop open when the pendant button is depressed. Once opened the mint-condition classic white dial features black numerals, black minute batons and fine blue anodized hands with a double spade hour hand. The case has two backs - the main back-cover and a movement dust-cover. Both front and back covers snap close firmly. The case is stamped with the London import mark "Zodiac sign of Leo", date letter 'n' denoting year 1908, fineness stamp "18" ".75" denoting 18ct gold, and the registered sponsors mark "CN" which is that of Charles Nicolet. As well, case number "441405". The movement cover plate (inner lid) is signed, hand-engraved with "WEST & SON. DUBLIN" "SWISS", which was one the oldest European fine-jewellery stores and companies in Ireland (1720- 2010), and likely the original retailer of the fob watch. Small hand engraved numerals are engraved to the inside of the case, likely to be dates of watchmaker services throughout the last century.

The all working Swiss pocket watch has a side-wind, pin set cylinder escapement movement. The Swiss movement serial number is "39982", also stamped "PEERLESS" and "S & Co" denoting Stauffer, Son & Co maker (the largest importer of Swiss watches in Britain). To set the time depress the small pin to the right of the winding stem (a fingernail usually works best) at the same time turn the crown to the desired time, release the pin set. Wind crown until a natural stop.

The original hallmarked bow can be used to clip to your favorite fob chain, or utilized as a ring for your necklace to thread through if wearing as watch pendant.

A wonderful antique ladies fob watch. Perfect to wear as a watch pendant, and would make a lovely gift for the distinct lady!

Very good vintage condition. Normal light surface wear to case and visible scuff marks to the inner back lid (near the notch opening). The face is in superb condition and the guilloché enamel and hand painting has no chips or damage. The original antique movement is currently in working order (it has not been serviced so no guarantees). A gorgeous well-maintained timepiece!
